Display Controls
The viewer is designed for repeated use during rehearsal, practice, and live playing. Most display choices can be adjusted per song without rewriting the source file.
- Transpose ChordPro songs and supported Guitar Pro files without changing the original import.
- Show, hide, or reposition chords for ChordPro lead sheets.
- Use autoscroll when hands-free reading matters.
- Print or export songs when you need an offline paper fallback.
- Reset user settings for a song if local display choices no longer match what you need.
Comments And Markings
Comments are supported for ChordPro songs. Add typed, rich text, or drawn comments when you need performance notes, reminders, arrangement cues, or markings that should not live in the original file.
Comments can be positioned above, below, left, or right of a section and styled for quick scanning while playing. You can click existing comments directly in the viewer to edit or delete them.
PDF files use the PDF edit mode instead of song comments. There you can add highlights, text notes, and freehand drawings as annotations.
Backing Tracks
Songs can include backing tracks. Add tracks from the song dialog, then control playback from the viewer. Native apps can provide stronger background audio behavior depending on the device and platform.
Tools
Chordy includes performance tools such as:
- Metronome
- Tuner
- Backing tracks
- MIDI command bindings
- Guitar Pro player controls where available
Custom Actions
In the Actions menu, you can create custom controls. Supported controls are labels for short notes, dividers for grouping, and MIDI buttons with custom text. Use the edit button to change, reorder, or delete these controls.
MIDI Commands
MIDI commands can control song navigation, autoscroll, metronome, and backing tracks when the platform and connected devices support it. Bind controls in MIDI settings and use the monitor to confirm incoming events.
Each song can also send its own MIDI messages when it is opened. Supported message types are Control Change, Program Change, Note On, and Note Off.
